You could install some mollusk and annelid beds - jokingly referred to as “cozze-reef” [mussel-reef], that anyway is important from the point of view of biodiversity, precisely because it is a transitional marine - coastal environment. So, to have these types of structures available, in my humble opinion, even artificial (I think that will some submerged concrete structures will happen here and there) with cavities in such a way that the shellfish ... benthos can find a substrate.. in other words it has a double benefit, being able to also reduce wave energy.
