Retreat is expensive - staying too!

Now there is a working group in [our] city council, they produced a protocol because the local land planning already was foreseeing inland shift of coastal campsites. They were supposed to do it some time ago but you understand that moving a camping site requires proper financial investment as they have bungalows.

It will have to be decided how much land lease they will have to pay if they want to stay where they are as they will be forced to accept some adaptation measures should they decide to stay close to the coast, for example put bungalows on poles, improve the landscaping rebuilding dunes, etc. If we make a start now on the long-term we will have positive results, and at least an awareness is building up.
