People more attentive to daily issues than disaster preparedness

"During (public information meetings) you could clearly see that people are quite often not aware of the big risks. In fact they just care about the more daily issues like too much sand on the dikes instead of being well protected against flooding.  Besides the locals and the commuters, you also had the participation of several local organizations for instance ANB (Agency for Nature Preservation). They have a different view on the study, since their main occupation is not the coastal safety but nature and ecological values along the coast. It was also very important that all new measures were discussed with them regarding nature preservation and which European regulations needed to be followed."
