People lack awareness of coastal storms

The awareness of a storm surge, among the population is very far behind, if it is present at all. That is because storm surges are very rare on the Baltic Sea. As disaster preventionists we see the necessity to inform population about it. That is why we have published a brochure a few years ago and a poster exhibition together with the Ministry of Environment. I think this is little present and also has no cultural significance.
